You are here with a million of your family members and its not a wedding and you just want the moment captured right?
Okay, so first of all you want that big shot with everyone, and then you want all the families split up for their own little mini session. I really wanted to make a post about what it looks like when you book a large family session here in Maui with me. First of all I always choose a location that has lots of room to run, a spot where we wont run into other families, and a spot that has a lot for kids to explore. I'm not the type of photographer that has you just sit and pose for every shot, there are lots of photographers that do that, and their work is beautiful, but that just isn't me, and if that isn't you either and you know your kid isn't just going to sit there then you and I are probably a great fit.
I like to get down to the nitty gritty of who you are as a family, and I want to just capture all that love, that real love that floats around when everyone is together on vacation. Its so hard to get people together all at the same place and time, and having that captured is the bees knees. This is where I start, before everyone gets dirty and starts running around. I take 10 shots like this, where I try and get everyone to smile. I ALWAYS do this shot in the beginning because the kids are ready for this shot at the beginning only, and after that they are off exploring and playing.
And then we do all of this.....
And that's the wrap! This family was lucky as there were two turtles hanging on the beach.
side note: if you are visiting Hawaii and see a turtle on the beach, remember to stay 10 feet back and to not disturb the turtle.
